For new starters I can suggest best network design, topology and equipment procurement.
I also have advanced experience with several antivirus offerings like SOPHOS, CiscoAMP, DrayTek and ESET. Additional layers of security can be added like DNS scanning by OpenDNS and advanced spam filters can be put in place to try and protect your inbox.
